There are four degrees within each belt. They are denoted with stripes on the black bar of the belt. Each degree is a representation of an understanding of those specific concepts and techniques for each segment of the blue belt test. Once all segments have been completed, e.g, 4 belt stripes, students will be further reviewed and positioned for advancement to the next belt level.
Students will be evaluated through a demonstration of techniques that they are able to perform and explain. Evaluations will take place during weekend audits that will happen quarterly. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Performance and knowledge of technique will be weighed on each student’s current belt level and experience. The expectation of technique performance and knowledge of techniques will increase as each student graduates to the next belt level as reflected in the curriculum.
Promotions of any type are at the discretion of the head instructor. Factors: above average class attendance, competing and natural ability could potentially shorten the time frame to the next proceeding belt. Instructor reserves the right to request further techniques.
